Dry and Wet cast stone is supplied to the Cheltenham redevelopment
The cast stone and precast concrete specialists Amber Precast have been chosen by main contractor Kier to manufacture and supply stonework as part of a £45 million redevelopment at Cheltenham Racecourse.
The contract will see Amber Precast supply a mixture of dry cast and wet cast stone to the create state-of-the-art new grandstand, Horsewalk Bridge, First Aid Room and the new Betting shop.
With a tight schedule so that the work is completed in time for the 2016 Cheltenham Festival, Kier needed a supplier who could not only cope with the large capacity but who could be depended upon to supply the required product at the exact time it was needed.
The project began in May 2014, and Amber Precast will be supplying and delivering the stone to the project over the next 6 months. Once the main grandstand is complete, Amber are also looking into providing the external landscaping coping to the grounds which will showcase our hard landscaping capability.
This contract is yet another opportunity to showcase Amber Precast’s products in a world renowned arena, having recently completed high-scale projects at The Belfry at Birmingham, the John Jones Building in London, and having been awarded work for 3 new student accommodation blocks at the University of Roehampton.
