Wet Cast Stone products are ideal for use in load-bearing situations where structural support is needed or where there is a high degree of environmental exposure. Wet Cast has higher water content than Dry Cast and is poured into moulds then left to air cure over night. This results in a comparatively longer curing process, but produces a more durable stone with a higher tensile strength.
Why choose our Wet Cast Stone?
Amber Precast can manufacture a range of Wet Cast components in almost any shape or size such as window and door surrounds, columns, self supporting arches and structural units. Wet Cast stone is not only useful for complex reinforcements, but also allows for the precise rendering of fine detail. Amber Precast provide a fully bespoke service offering a range of different surface finishes including light-etching or exposed aggregate.
Wet Cast Concrete has the ability to withstand harsh weather conditions and numerous freeze-thaw cycles and as it requires minimal support, it also provides the choice of structures being either fixed or freestanding. Our customers tell us that they tell us that they like the surface texture which weathers more slowly than any Dry Cast stone. Some projects also call for a hard white finish which is durable and has a more contemporary feel.
Examples of projects where we’ve used Wet Cast concrete include Acid Etch Steps for the Olympic Village, Cast Stonework at Coutts House and Wet Cast Stonework at St Helen’s Girls School.
